Wood Badge

In spring 2005 the Cornhusker Council
is bringing you the best Wood Badge program ever!

  • The course will be held on two weekends in 2005, April 1-3 and April 22-24, at the Cornhusker Council Outdoor Education Center east of Lincoln, Nebraska.

  • Wood Badge is an advanced training program that involves leaders in situations likely to be found in a typical scout unit.  The training is applied in a variety of activities as well as in-depth exploration of the role of adult in developing the youth through the Scout program.

  • Wood badge training is open to adult leaders from all of the Scouting programs, Cub Scouting, Boy Scouting, Varsity and Venturing, who have completed the basic leader training for their specific position.

  • The object of a Wood Badge course is to demonstrate as practically as possible the aims and methods of Scouting.  Six days in duration, the course is a multi-faceted presentation of leadership skills, organizational tools, and participatory activities based on the best of Scouting traditions.

  • Many Scouters consider Wood Badge training to be a peak experience of their Scouting careers.  We hope that you are able to join in this excellent experience!!
